Leadership Update

Angela Quinn Named Chief Operating Officer – In reimagining its leadership structure to position it for future lateral and acquisition expansion, Husch Blackwell named Angela Quinn its new Chief Operating Officer. Quinn had previously served as the firm’s Chief Client Officer. The organizational changes are designed to help the firm capitalize on growth opportunities created by its success over the past 10 years, which include eight consecutive years of revenue growth—seven of them double digit growth—and a 90% increase in attorney headcount to over 1,100 attorneys. Firm Accolades

Firm Rises to No. 78 in Am Law 100 - The American Lawyer has recognized HB among the top 100 law firms in the United States in its 2025 Am Law 100 rankings. The annual ranking is based on gross revenue and includes a variety of other measures of law firm size and profitability.

The Financial Times shortlisted the firm in three categories for the Innovative Lawyers Awards North America 2024:

  • Innovation in Generative AI Strategy: Artificial Intelligence
  • Innovation in New Services to Manage Risk: Innovāt Alliance National Coordinating Counsel

In the past few months, the firm was also recognized:

  • By U.S. News & World Report named Husch Blackwell to its Best Company to Work For: Law Firms edition. HB is one of 232 law firms nationwide to earn the Best Companies to Work for distinction.
  • As the No. 1 healthcare law firm for the third year in a row by the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Health Law Section. It also is listed as one of the top 10 largest healthcare law firms by Modern Healthcare.

  • Benchmark Litigation has recognized Husch Blackwell as a top litigation firm, listing 29 attorneys as 2025 Litigation Stars,85 as Future Stars, and 16 on its 2024 40 & Under Hot List. The firm was named the Nebraska Firm of the Year at the 2025 Benchmark US Litigation Awards, which marks sixth consecutive years of being the top litigation firm in the state.
  • Fifteen Husch Blackwell Practices Earn National Tier 1 Rankings in the 2025 edition of Best Law Firms®.
  • Managing Intellectual Property magazine has recognized nine attorneys in its 2024 edition of IP STARS, a leading guide to intellectual property law firms and lawyers. The firm was also shortlisted by Managing IP for its 2025 Americas Awards series.
  • IFLR shortlisted the firm in three categories for its Americas Awards 2025, including Firm of the Year in the US Domestic Firm: National category. Winners will be announced on May 14.
  • Chambers & Partners recognized five partners and two departments in its 2025 Chambers Global guide.

Client Successes

Our talented teams continue to move client goals forward. Among their recent accomplishments, they:

  • Supported Marshfield Clinic Health System in its merger with Sanford Health – Husch Blackwell served as outside transactional and regulatory counsel to Marshfield Clinic Health System in a merger with Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States. As a result, the combined system will serve patients and communities across the upper Midwest, including South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wyoming, Iowa, Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.   • Scored a significant appellate win in a decade-long bankruptcy battel – Husch Blackwell prevailed in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on behalf of the State of Montana Department of Revenue in an appeal arising from a bankruptcy dispute dating back to 2011 against former billionaire Tim Blixseth.   • Guides ADC Solutions Auto to Victory at the U.S. International Trade Commission – Husch Blackwell earned victory this at the U.S. International Trade Commission, when the panel affirmed a decision of the presiding administrative law judge, which found that the firm’s client ADC Solutions Auto, LLC (d/b/a Type S) did not violate Section 337 of the Tariff Act in relation to imported portable battery jump starters.   • Represents CBC Bancorp in acquisition of Bay Community Bancorp – Husch Blackwell represented CBC Bancorp in its acquisition of Bay Community Bancorp, the holding company for Community Bank of the Bay. The acquisition which closed on November 1, 2024, merges institutions from two of California's largest banking markets, resulting in a combined financial institution with approximately $3.5 billion in combined assets.   • Represented Legacy Sports Partners in acquisition of Danish professional soccer club – Husch Blackwell served as buyer’s counsel to Legacy Sports Partners in its acquisition of Vendsyssel FF, a professional football club based in Hjørring, Denmark and currently competing in Denmark’s Division, from owner Jacob Andersen. Learn more.

HB Footprint

  • Opened its Nashville office, located at the Fifth + Broadway building, in September—the firm’s first new office launch since May 2023, when it opened in Minneapolis.
  • Completed a significant three-floor renovation at the Kansas City office at Plaza Colonnade in April, and we’re celebrating with an Open House event on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Save the date—later this summer you will receive a formal invitation to register for the event.
  • The St. Louis office was named to Office Snapshots' Top 25 Most Popular Offices of 2024 list.
