Greetings! I’m Jen Locklear, the firm’s Chief People Officer, and I joined The Link (our virtual office) in May 2024. I live in the Tampa area, though I’m frequently on the road visiting HB offices around the country.
My role is a new one: for the first time in firm history, we’ve united all our people-related functions—human resources, employee relations, learning and training, onboarding, and performance and rewards—under one leader. In my first few months here, I’ve loved seeing how our people-first culture is evident every day, and I’m excited to help ensure we remain a firm that knows our value is our people (including our incredible alumni network).
Our attorney roster has grown by leaps and bounds lately: we’ve brought on more than 100 laterals so far this year, many of whom have been attracted by our people-driven culture and our flexible approach to remote work. In September, we welcomed 73 fall associates to 19 offices across the U.S., where they will contribute to 17 different practice areas. I’m sure many of you remember the nervous excitement of joining the firm as fall associates yourselves.
Some of you may have also been part of an office opening during your time here, and on September 9, we opened our 22nd office—this time in Nashville. Over the past year, we’ve onboarded eight attorneys in the Nashville area, giving us a presence in the Music City ahead of our brick-and-mortar opening. We look forward to continuing our strategic growth in the places our clients need us to be.
It's an exciting time to be at the firm, and I’m thrilled to be a part of our team. I also know Husch Blackwell wouldn’t be the firm it is today without the contributions of each and every one of you.
