We are proud to celebrate the retirement of Jeff Nobles, an attorney in our Technology, Manufacturing, & Transportation industry group. Jeff has dedicated his career to appellate law, tackling some of the most complex and challenging legal issues with precision, insight, and an unwavering commitment to his clients.
Check out a brief Q&A below and join us in wishing him all the best in his well-deserved retirement.
I joined the firm in May 2019.
Kate David, although she’s much younger than me. Kate recruited me to the Houston office and made it possible for me to work on interesting appellate cases, with excellent lawyers and staff, in a healthy and happy environment.
I worked on a team that included Kate, Ben Stephens, and Nick Stepp, representing Dallas County and its sheriff in cases involving the Dallas jail during the COVID outbreak. We worked on tight deadlines against excellent lawyers at Susman Godfrey and other good firms. Our work was completely successful, and our teamwork was incredible. The collaborative experiences I’ve had on that case and others in the Houston office have been highlights of my career as an appellate lawyer.
Living a life without deadlines. I’ve spent most of the last 38 years with an appellate briefing deadline hanging over my head. My wife, Angie, and I have moved to Georgetown, Texas, where I’m serving on the board of a local nonprofit and will continue to practice appellate law, as a solo practitioner, from home at a much slower pace. I hope my friends will stay in touch. Thank you all!
