We are excited to share the Husch Blackwell 2021 Annual Report with our alumni network. We are not only proud of the firm’s remarkable achievements, but we also wanted you to see the progress you had a hand in shaping.
While the past year was noteworthy for Husch Blackwell on multiple fronts, the totality of the transformation and growth the firm has realized in the past few years is extraordinary. A few highlights include:
- Launching the industry’s first (and still the only) all-virtual office, The Link, which has received national acclaim for its innovative approach and design;
- Winning the CLOC LIO Legal Innovation in Operations Award for groundbreaking work that utilizes our HB Vault platform built for efficient management of large-scale litigation;
- Receiving recognition from BTI Consulting Group as one of 22 firms deemed best at alternative fee arrangements in 2020 and as a Recommended Law Firm in 2021;
- Growing the HB Communities for Change program, the firm’s effort to harness the energy throughout its 25 offices to make positive change with respect to racial justice.

Above and beyond the firm’s achievements, client success is what motivates and inspires us. In the past year, our teams had the opportunity to work with notable in-house legal teams on the following high-profile cases.
- Representing Northwestern University in an energy private-public partnership for the campus.
- Successfully defended Conagra Brands against class action claims under ERISA at the federal court level and on appeal.
- Represented Casey’s General Stores in its acquisition of approximately 175 Bucky’s Convenience Stores.
- Represented Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General in Chesapeake Energy Corporation’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
- Representing Honeywell in a wage and hour putative class action.
