Husch Blackwell mourns the passing of Director of Marketing & Communications Molly Porter on October 4, 2023. She leaves behind her husband, two sons, mother, numerous friends and legal industry connections.
Firm leadership issued this internal email firmwide about Molly:
“It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our friend and colleague Molly Porter, on Wednesday, October 4, after courageously battling acute myeloid leukemia for the past several months.
Molly joined the firm as our Director of Marketing & Communications in January of this year—and her impact in a few short months is one that will truly shape the firm’s future. She was the creative force behind our upcoming brand transformation, which you will all soon witness in action. Her vision and dedication to this endeavor were truly extraordinary.
Before joining Husch Blackwell, Molly had already made a significant mark in the legal marketing community, earning widespread admiration and respect throughout her illustrious 25-year career, which spanned across firms Foley & Lardner, DLA Piper, Sidley, and Seyfarth Shaw.
While her professional accomplishments brought her great pride, Molly was best known for her ability to connect with people. This was especially evident in her unwavering commitment to her family. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and daughter. Her influence will live on through those who knew and loved her.
To those who had the privilege of working closely with Molly, we understand the profound loss you are feeling. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to you and offer our support during this difficult period. Our thoughts are also with Molly’s family and friends as they navigate the challenges ahead.”
