It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our colleague and friend, Maury Poscover, who left us on Monday, June 16.

Maury’s remarkable career with our firm spanned more than 50 years, beginning in 1969 when he became the seventeenth attorney to join our legacy firm, Husch, Eppenberger, Donohue, Elson and Cornfeld. From the outset, Maury set a standard of professionalism and integrity that continues to guide us today.

As the firm’s first chair, Maury was a visionary leader who shaped the course of our history. Nearly four decades ago, he pioneered a management approach that allowed attorneys to focus on practicing law by entrusting day-to-day operations to non-attorneys—a model that remains central to our success today and a testament to his lasting influence.

Beyond his leadership here, Maury was deeply respected across the legal profession. He held numerous leadership roles within the American Bar Association and his work to develop standards for third-party legal opinions, known as the Silverado Accord, exemplified his commitment to advancing the profession.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Maury’s family, friends, and all who knew him.
