Mission Clean Energy is seeking a Paralegal with 3+ years of legal experience, including strong transactional and real estate experience, to support our in-house legal team and large-scale development projects remotely in an ongoing contract.

About the Role

The Paralegal/Legal Assistant will support Mission’s in-house counsel in the review and preparation of real estate contracts, title analysis and curative, contract template revisions, general contract management and organization, and the fulfillment of other legal related administrative duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Draft contracts from templates
  • Quality control (QC) contracts drafted by team
  • Evaluate real estate title reports, commitments, and proformas
  • Support title curative research and action items
  • Research deeds & legal descriptions for land
  • Prepare redlines/track changes to contracts pursuant to attorney feedback, including preparing redline turns of NDA’s and MSA’s
  • Assist with the periodic review and updating of company legal forms
  • Update and maintain log of daily legal project requests and deadlines
  • Correspond with third parties, including landowners, title companies, vendors, and external counsel
  • Attend negotiation meetings between in-house counsel and third parties, and prepare meeting notes

Requirements

  • Strong background in legal analysis and transactions research
  • Familiarity with real estate documents deeds and land descriptions
  • Proven experience drafting legal documents/contracts
  • Exceptional attention to detail & organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Compensation

This is an ongoing contract position paying $30-40/hour for up to 30 hours per week, depending on qualifications and relevant experience.
